The SOUNDPEATS UU2 have a somewhat identical design to the SOUNDPEATS POP Clip earbuds released last year. Each clip-on earbud features a glossy black exterior with a matte surface for the logo.
The SOUNDPEATS UU2 also has physical button, providing tactile feedback that you did indeed press the button. I prefer this to many touch controls as it helps reduce accidental presses when you grip the earbuds to adjust them.

The charging case has a matte black finish and a small LED on the front to indicate the charging level (red is under 20%, yellow is 20-49%, and green is 50%-100%).
Performance
Bass performance is surprisingly good for open-ear earbuds! Listening to “The Great Divide” by Noah Kahan, I noticed nice separation between the vocals and instruments and strong, yet not overpowering, bass. Music sounds great on these earbuds, and I really like the fact that they don’t completely block my ears so I can still hear what is going on around me. This makes them great for running and other outdoor activities when you need to pay attention to your surroundings.
I also appreciate the physical buttons on the UU2, as they allow you to easily adjust the volume (1 press), play and pause (2 presses), or skip and rewind a track (press and hold). Unlike touch controls, the physical buttons are more reliable and help prevent accidental presses.

Microphone Performance
The microphone on the SOUNDPEATS UU2 does a good job of picking up my voice, but I noticed that it sometimes picks up some echo from the room. However, when testing it next to a white noise machine, it did a great job focusing on my voice and filtering out the white noise. Take a listen to the sample recordings below.
Battery Life
Each UU2 earbud can last up to 10 hours on a single charge, and the charging case can provide an additional 32 hours of battery life, for a total of 42 hours before the charging case needs to be recharged. The battery case recharges with a standard USB-C cable.
SOUNDPEATS UU2 vs POP Clip
You may notice many similarities between the SOUNDPEATS UU2 and the POP Clip, but the UU2 does pack some updated features.
| UU2 | POP Clip | |
|---|---|---|
| Driver | 12mm | 10.8mm |
| Bluetooth Version | 6.0 | 5.4 |
| Battery Life (per earbud) | 10 hours | 8 hours |
| Total Battery Life with Case | 42 hours | 30 hours |
| Microphones | 2 per side | 1 per side |

Our Verdict
The SOUNDPEATS UU2 earbuds feature an open-ear design while still delivering strong bass and great sound. The 2-mic system is effective for clear calls, and the earbuds offer up to 10 hours of playback per charge. With the charging case, you can get up to 42 hours of playback, and they're comfortable for long periods of wear.
