It will soon be one full year since Pokémon Go was released, and Niantic has some big plans startings June 13.

The Solstice Event will kick off June 13 and feature both Fire-type and Ice-type Pokémon prominently in the wild.  There will also be increased XP bonuses for accurate Poké Ball throws, and discounts on the Lucky Egg in the shop. In addition, Niantic mentioned that trainers can look forward to a new update soon “focused on collaborative group gameplay.”

Niantic also announced Pokémon Go Fest Chicago, which will encourage players to meet up in downtown Chicago’s Grant Park on July 22 to participate in various Pokémon-themed activities. Tickets for the event will go on sale on June 19.
