Design
These earbuds are a little different from other earbuds we’ve seen from Soundcore. Instead of focusing on high-end bass or phone call quality, these earbuds are focused on helping you sleep.
You’ll probably notice right away that these earbuds are small, and they have to be if they’re going to fit comfortably in your ear at night.
Performance
The Soundcore Sleep A10 are surprisingly comfortable when resting my ear against a pillow, but you can definitely tell that something is in your ear so you may have a bit of a “break-in” period until you become used to them for sleep.
These earbuds have two modes:
- Music Mode: lets you steam calming music from your smartphone…
- Sleep Mode: plays a looping soundtrack, like white noise, that are downloaded directly to the earbuds.
You can switch between these two modes by tapping the left earbud twice.
If you need to sleep in a noisy environment, these earbuds have Adaptive Noise Masking that raises the volume of the sound to help overcome the noise around you. But please note that these earbuds do NOT have Active Noise Cancellation; the noise cancellation is only passive, however there are several ear tips included so you can get a tight seal to block out the noise.
Battery Life
On Music Mode, the earbuds can last up to 6 hours which might not last through the whole night, but these earbuds can automatically switch to Sleep Mode once they detect you’ve fallen asleep.
In Sleep Mode, you can get up to 10 hours of playback which should get you through the night.
Soundcore Sleep A10 vs Bose Sleepbuds II
If you’re curious how these might compare to the Bose Sleepbuds II, you’ll find that the Soundcore Sleep A10 earbuds have pretty much all of the same features, plus let you listen to your own music, something the Sleepbuds surprisingly do not allow. There is also a sleep monitoring feature on the Soundcore Sleep A10 that can track your activity at night, kind of like a FitBit or Apple Watch can.

Our Verdict
The Soundcore Sleep A10 earbuds are a worthy contender to the Bose Sleepbuds II, providing much of the same functionality and adding the ability to stream your own music (something the Bose is lacking). When playing a downloaded looping sound, the earbuds can last up to 10 hours of playback time.
PROs
- Sleep detection and monitoring
- Long battery life
- Bluetooth audio streaming and local playback
CONs
- No Active Noise Cancellation (but neither do the Bose Sleepbuds II)
